Are you interested in joining a dynamic community of facilities leaders dedicated to making a positive impact? If so, we invite you to consider becoming a candidate for one of our open board positions. As a board member, you can actively contribute to our association and the broader facilities profession while refining your leadership abilities and advancing your professional growth. Joining us means you’ll directly influence the expansion of the PCAPPA region and work closely with a dedicated team passionate about fostering the development of facilities professionals. Awards & Recognition Chair (voting board member)

Responsibilities and Duties
• Coordinate awards and recognition at the Annual PCAPPA conference
• Seek out recommendations for PCAPPA individual awards and review submittals with the A & R committee
• Remind members to submit applications
• Participate on the APPA Awards and Recognition Committee and review individual and campus award submissions
• Review and award scholarships to members

Business Partner Liaison (voting board member)
Responsibilities and Duties
• Represent business partner membership and provide updates to the PCAPPA board
• Strive to develop mutual benefits to institutions and BPs
• Develop activities to recruit and retain BPs
• Collaborate with the Membership Chair with Business Partner membership new and existing
• Collaborate with the Conference Committee Chair on obtaining sponsorships
• Identify and recruit new organizations to participate in the Annual Conference
• Work with BPs to drive additional participation in the Annual Conference
• Actively support and participate in an annual regional conference

Communications Strategy Chair (voting board member)
Responsibilities and Duties
• Serve as liaison between the APPA Communications Strategy group and PCAPPA
• Schedule and chair committee meetings to address key issues and business of the committee (meetings held at regional conferences)
• Provide committee updates at monthly board meetings
• Develop and coordinate regional Information
• Participate in the review of the Facilities Magazine Article for the Rex Dillow Award
• Set the communication tone for committee tasks in alignment with the PCAPPA board.
• Manage updates to the PCAPPA website and interface with the website content manager
• Manage PCAPPA’s social media platforms and oversee the activities of the Social Media Group
• Ensure members receive frequent and timely updates on training, guidelines, policies, and events using communication platforms such as the website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Maintain the editorial guideline template for simplicity and accuracy of editorials in alignment with the PCAPPA strategic action plan
• Actively support and participate in an annual regional conference

Conference Chair (voting board member)

Responsibilities and Duties
• Lead the identification of conference venue location
• In partnership with the contracted meeting planner, negotiate, review, and approve conference-related contracts
• Review and update Annual Meeting Guidelines Develop and promote conference
• Collaborate with the board to develop a website and videos
• Coordinate with the Business Partner Liaison and the meeting planner on sponsorships
• Coordinate with the Treasurer regarding scholarships, board expenses, and other accounting issues relative to the annual meeting/conference
• In partnership with the contracted meeting planner, coordinate the registration process and set registration rates
• Coordinate with the Professional Development Committee on the selection of educational sessions and presenters
• Coordinate the logistics of the spring board meeting
• Actively support and participate in the annual regional conference

Responsibilities and Duties
• Advance PCAPPA’s Strategic Action Plan to attract, retain, and engage members at all levels of the education facilities organization
• Provide strategic guidance to cultivate connectivity and belonging within the professional community
• Advise the board initiatives to enhance member value propositions based on trends and data analyses
• Provide feedback to APPA on member service offerings
• Promote the PCAPPA brand
• Actively support and participate in the annual regional conference

• Administrator for PCAPPA’s email and document management system
• Engage as a member of the executive President Triad
• Schedule and coordinate bi-weekly President Triad meetings

Responsibilities and Duties
• Maintain and update the strategic goals for PCAPPA. Update the PCAPPA strategic plan
• Coordinates with other board members to complete their follow-up actions before the next board meeting
• Update the duties and responsibilities of board members
• Review and update the PCAPPA bylaws
• Assume the duties of the president in the absence or incapacity of the president
• Serve as a liaison between students, state chapters, and the PCAPPA board
• Award a “Presidential Appreciation” gift that includes the name, dates of service, and PCAPPA • • Regional Seal to the outgoing President
• Become president automatically after serving a term as president-elect.
• Actively support and participate in the annual regional conference

President (voting board member)

Responsibilities
• Leader of the board and ensure that the board fulfills governance responsibilities and meets its obligations.
• Update and maintain the strategic goals
• Works with the Treasurer to ensure the integrity of PCAPPA’s operational budget per funding allocations, budgetary projections and analyses, carefully tracked spending and payments, budgetary reporting, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure that the board performs its governance responsibilities
• Ensure that the board adopts an annual action plan and objectives consistent with the strategic directions, mission, and vision in support of equitable membership success.
• Ensure the work of the board committees aligns with the annual work plan
• Ensure board succession by attracting diverse board members with the skills, experience, background, and personal qualities required for effective board governance
• Facilitate the business of the board, including preserving order at meetings
• Encourage input and equal participation from all board members
• Provides timely relevant information for decision making
• Serve as the official spokesperson for the board
• Facilitates relationships with APPA and other regions

Duties:
• Develop PCAPPA Monthly call agenda and chair PCAPPA Board meetings
• Kick-off annual conference
• Conduct general membership meeting
• Recommend replacement of any PCAPPA board member who for any reason shall become unable to perform the duties of the office
• Appoint special positions as necessary with the approval of the board to accomplish the goals and objectives of PCAPPA
• Issue President’s awards (identify recipients to A&R Chair and Unsung Hero(es) to APPA)
• Formally recognize each PCAPPA Board Member with a “Certificate of Appreciation” at the end of the board end
• Award paper “Certificates of Appreciation” to Volunteers or Committee
• Chairs for specific contributions to the association during the current board term
• Award plaque “Certificate of Appreciation” to APPA Board as a PCAPPA Representative
• Send out congratulations to individuals who have completed professional development training: Leadership Academy or Institute; EFP and/or CEFP and recipients of APPA awards for Meritorious Service, Pacesetter, Unsung Hero, etc
• Send out congratulations to institutions who are recipients of APPA awards such as Award for • • Excellence, Award for Sustainability, or other institutional awards
• Participate in monthly APPA president’s meeting
• Lead and support community outreach and membership participation
• Advocate and recruit new members
• Chair PCAPPA Business Meeting at PCAPPA Conference

Professional Development Chair (voting board member)

Responsibilities and Duties
• Organize professional development opportunities for PCAPPA members such as supervisory or management training, drive-in workshops, leadership, classroom training, or any other educational opportunities
• Provide scholarships to PCAPPA through the successful CEFP renewals by members.
• Invite non-PCAPPA institutions to experience the benefits of PCAPPA-sponsored professional development to encourage new members
• Create and maintain an energetic and enthusiastic committee to seek out new ideas for professional development and growth
• Reach out to the APPA and PCAPPA Business Partners to engage them in learning opportunities for PCAPPA members
• Provide support to member institutions hosting educational events.
• Actively support and participate in the annual regional conference

• Advocate for Small and Community Colleges by identifying their unique challenges and needs so PCAPPA can better serve them
• Create networking opportunities to keep them engaged

• Serve as strategic partnerships liaison between APPA and PCAPPA

• Review and rate submissions for Institutional Awards such as:
– APPA Award for Excellence in Facilities Management,
– APPA’s Effective and Innovative Practices Award
– APPA’s Sustainability Award in Facilities Management
• Actively support and participate in the annual regional conference.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Manage PCAPPA financial assets
• Balance and reconcile monthly checking accounts
• Process payment or reimbursements for all PCAPPA procurement, contracts, and expenses related to board operations and conference activities
• Prepare and present quarterly financial reports at board meetings
• Provide financial recommendations to the board
• Develop and present the annual budget for board approval
• Keep detailed financial records necessary for accurate tax preparation
• Ensure taxes are filed promptly and accurately
• Maintain tax returns for records
• Maintain charitable organization status by filing annually with the state of Nevada
• Maintain, update, and renew Board insurance policy
• Co-administer Google Drive with Past-President/Secretary
• Actively support and participate in the annual regional conference
