Mike Devolin
With over 20 years of experience in facilities management across both private and public sectors, Mike Devolin has built a diverse career focused on optimizing operations and leading dynamic teams. In his current role as Associate Director of Facilities Services at Simon Fraser University (SFU), he oversees a broad range of initiatives, including serving as a key stakeholder in the Facilities planning of the Medical School, as it prepares to welcome itsfirst cohort in 2026. His leadership experience encompasses managing large teams of tradespeople, architectural support staff, project managers, and other facilities-related professionals. He hold a Business Administration degree and is certified in San Yas Indigenous Cultural Training, reflecting his commitment to cultural competence and inclusivity. His contributions to the Aboriginal Strategic Initiative at SFU have been recognized, further demonstrating his dedication to fostering community relationships.
For over 14 years, he has actively engaged with PCAPPA, where he has presented as a session speaker at multiple annual conferences. In October 2023, he was honoured to be elected to the PCAPPA Board of Directors, currently serving as the Chairperson of the Awards & Recognition Committee, where he celebrates excellence in the facilities field.
Outside of his professional endeavours, he enjoys exploring local trails and mountains, and is passionate about coaching his son’s basketball team, where he aims to instill teamwork and resilience in the next generation.
